
SEYMOUR – Here are some highlights from the Seymour Police Department’s calls for service from Feb. 3, 2025 through Feb. 9, 2025.
It is a partial list of calls, curated by The Valley Indy. The goal is to give the public a head’s up on what’s happening in the community.

Seymour police received 151 calls for service and made five arrests between Feb. 3, 2025 and Feb. 9, 2025.
FEB. 3, 2025
8:58 a.m. A walk-in complaint about a car broken down near Stop & Stop on Franklin Street was received by police.
9:56 a.m. Police conducted a building safety check of Chatfield-LoPresti School on Skokorat Street.
4:58 p.m. Police received multiple 911 hang-up calls and determined a child was playing with the phone and accidentally dialed 911.
5:56 p.m. Police charged a 40-year-old Seymour man with illegally operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs.
FEB. 4, 2025
2:51 a.m. Suspicious activity was reported in the Klarides Village plaza about a vehicle with four occupants parked near Karaku Restaurant. Police said the individuals were doing work at Ocean State Job Lot, and reported no issues.
10:43 a.m. Police received a request for assistance from a state police trooper about a rental vehicle rented by Seymour resident that was not returned to Bradley Airport.
12:16 p.m. An employee of P&S Paving reported to police that some of their equipment was stolen during the overnight hours.
5:12 p.m. Police received a complaint from an individual who said a white BMW was following him and then blocked a parking spot in the Stop & Shop parking lot on Franklin Street, and would not exit the vehicle. Police said the BMW drove off before police arrived.
5:44 p.m. Police issued a parking ticket on Maple Street.
FEB. 5, 2025
12:02 p.m. Police conducted fingerprints for an individual at the police department.
2 p.m. Police assisted with crossing guard duty at Maple and Pearl streets.
3:08 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle crash on Bank Street.
3:49 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Mountain Road and West Street.
6:21 p.m. Police charged a 31-year-old Shelton man with interfering with an officer, resisting arrest and criminal possession of a firearm.
6:30 p.m. Police charged a 31-year-old Prospect man with illegal selling and manufacturing of cannabis and possession of possession of cannabis plant.
FEB. 6, 2025
8:18 a.m. Police assisted with a disabled motor vehicle on Bank Street.
3:14 p.m. A report of a motor vehicle fire at New Haven Road and Day Street was received. Police notified the fire department.
8:54 p.m. Police assisted with a disabled motor vehicle on West Street.
10:08 p.m. A cat was struck by a motor vehicle on Bungay Road and police called animal control to assist the cat, who was still alive.
11:15 p.m. A First Avenue resident reported a man was at her door, and she was unsure who he was. Police checked video footage and said the man walked halfway up the resident’s walkway and turned around. Police checked the area, but the man was gone before police arrived.
FEB. 7, 2025
8:14 a.m. A Balance Rock Road resident complained to a police about a verbal dispute between her neighbors.
8:38 a.m. An employee of Sikorsky Credit Union on West Street reported a smell of natural gas to police. The fire department made a forced entry into the building and Eversource was called to the scene.
11:23 a.m. Police received a report of a tree branch blocking part of Squantuck Road.
4:39 p.m. An Omar Street resident told police she believed her iPad was hacked.
7:05 p.m. Police charged a 34-year-old Seymour woman with illegally operating a motor vehicle under suspension, illegally operating motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs, use of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance, first offense.
FEB. 8, 2025
10:19 a.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on New Haven Road.
9 p.m. Police responded to a report of a car that crashed into a guardrail on New Haven Road.
10:35 p.m. Police charged a 39-year-old Naugatuck woman with illegally operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs.
10:46 p.m. The Public Works Department reported to police that a man in his vehicle on Spruce Street refused to move out of the way for the snowplow truck. The vehicle was gone upon police arrival.
11:18 p.m. Police assisted with a disabled motor vehicle on Bank Street.
11:43 p.m. Police charged a 31-year-old Prospect men with illegally operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs and possession of a controlled substance, first offense.
FEB. 9, 2025
1:04 a.m. A caller reported that her daughter’s car was stuck in the snow at Church Street and Knorr Avenue, but was able to get out of the snow on her own.
1:09 a.m. Police were called to a report of a car overheating on the side of the road on Great Hill Road, but the car was gone when police arrived.
9:56 a.m. A caller told police a private plow truck struck the fence at a storage unit facility on South Main Street.
4:27 p.m. A Balance Rock Road resident complained to police about a verbal dispute between his neighbors.
10:04 p.m. A Bungay Road resident complained to police that a tenant was blocking his parking spot, but the vehicle was gone before police arrived.
