Seymour Police Seek Public’s Help To Identify Thieves

SEYMOUR — Police are looking for a Toyota pickup truck and two suspects who stole a trailer and a Sea-Doo from a property on Roosevelt Drive Thursday (Feb. 11).

The theft happened about 3:30 p.m. at 397 Roosevelt Drive (Route 34) near the Oxford border.

According to police, a white Toyota Tundra can be seen passing by the residence heading west toward Oxford just before the theft. The Toyota then makes a right turn onto nearby Hawkstone Terrace in Oxford, then doubles back toward 397 Roosevelt Drive (Route 34).

Police said the suspect vehicle then entered the property’s driveway and backed up to a trailer holding the jet ski. Two suspects exited the Toyota, hooked the trailer to the vehicle, then drove off.

The Toyota, with the stolen trailer and Sea-Doo attached, turn left, again heading west on Route 34 into Oxford.

Anyone with information is asked to call call Detective Steve Ditria at 203 881 7627, between Monday and Friday.

“There are two suspects, but they are hard to identify due to the fact that they are wearing dark winter jackets and have their faces covered,” police said.

There is no further description of the two suspects.

However, police have a solid description of the Toyota used in the crime.

It is a white, four-door vehicle, with a short bed, dark, tinted windows, tinted headlight covers and eight spoke rims. The year of the Toyota is unknown.

“The trailer that was stolen is silver and bears CT AF 65283. The water craft is described as a Sea-Doo personal watercraft, color yellow,” police said.

Anyone with information on the vehicle, the suspects, or the incident are asked to call Detective Steve Ditria at 203 881 7627, between Monday and Friday, police said.
