Seymour police accused a 54-year-old Fawn Hollow Drive woman Sunday of allowing teens to throw an underage drinking party at her home.
Deborah Burns is charged with interfering with an officer, risk of injury to a minor and permitting a minor to possess alcohol.
Police said they responded to a noise complaint at the residence at 12:39 a.m. Officers discovered a large party with at least 20 teens in progress.
The party happened after a high school dance.
Many of the teens were gathered in a garage where police allegedly observed open alcohol containers.
A female teen, apparently intoxicated, was found in the bushes. She needed help walking, police said. The girl’s parents then arrived and took her to a hospital to get checked out.
Police said Burns wouldn’t cooperate with police. She shut the door on officers questioning what was happening, then pushed an officer after they entered her home, police said.
Seymour police called state troopers and Derby police to the scene to help with crowd control and disperse the large crowd.
Burns was released on a $5,000 bond and will appear in court Oct. 24.
A 17-year-old male at the home, whose name was not released, was issued an infraction for permitting a minor to possess alcohol and creating a public disturbance.
