Nine political signs owned by the campaign of George R. Temple and Jeffrey Haney, who are running for First Selectman and selectman, were stolen from a lawn on Quaker Farms Road. The campaign filed a complaint report with the Oxford Resident State Trooper’s office Wednesday.
The signs were taken sometime Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning. The signs were valued at more than $200.
The Temple-Haney campaign is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the people responsible.

Eight of the nine stolen signs were meant to be read as a single sentence: “Tired of promises / never kept / tired of politicians / who have overslept / in the Town of Oxford / the solution is simple / for the Board of Selectman / vote for Temple / and Haney.”
A “Temple-Haney Oxford Together” sign was also taken, according to a press release from Temple’s campaign.
Temple said he was disappointed the signs were taken, but noted that there are pictures of the signs on his website.
