Another drive-by shooting was reported in Ansonia, WTNH reports.
A house on Francis Street was shot at early Saturday.
“Multiple shots hit the home, and one bullet just missed the head of a young boy sleeping in his room.
No one was hurt in the shooting,” according to information on the WTNH website.
The incident marks the third shooting in the city since Nov. 24, when police received a report of shots fired in the area of Woodbridge Avenue. That incident happened at about 11:30 p.m. At first, cops found shell casings on the ground, but nothing else.
Sometime later a man came forward and told police he was shot at by someone driving a dark-colored SUV.
The victim’s car was seized by police as evidence.
Then, on Dec. 11, a 21-year-old man was shot in the stomach on Main Street near Maple Avenue. The victim didn’t call police, but they found out after he went to the hospital to get treated for his wound.
Details were sketchy, but police said a group of men were seen leaving the scene in two, dark-colored SUVs.
The victim in that case has a long criminal record, with convictions for cruelty to animals, marijuana possession, breach of peace, criminal trespass, reckless driving, violating probation — and two counts of engaging in police pursuit.
He is also allegedly part of a Valley criminal crew that was charged in April with selling drugs in order to raise cash for weapons. Another member of that crew may be connected to a Derby homicide, police said.
Anyone with information on these shootings should call police at 203 – 735-1885.
