“Halloween in a Box” is about the three companies behind those old-school plastic-masked Halloween costumes so many of us wore growing up. The film focuses much attention on Ben Cooper Inc., the Brooklyn-based company that manufactured the costumes from the 1930s until the 1990s.
Caprilozzi and his crew snagged interviews with former executives and employees, and, while filming the interviews, learned how the Tylenol poisoning cases on 1982 nearly canceled Halloween and almost ruined an industry.
