Update: Police on Wednesday (March 27) identified the Shelton woman injured Tuesday when a vehicle hit her in downtown Ansonia as Allison Carey, 44.
Police said Carey sustained a leg injury after being struck by a vehicle driven by Francesca Herold, 30, of Seymour. The incident occurred about 8:40 a.m. near the intersection of Main and Bridge streets.
Carey was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where she was listed in fair condition Wednesday, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
Lt. Andrew Cota said in an e‑mail Wednesday that police are still investigating the accident, and no enforcement action has been taken.

A Shelton woman was hospitalized with a leg injury Tuesday (March 26) after being hit by a vehicle in Ansonia, police said.
The woman’s age and name were not available Tuesday morning.
Lt. Andrew Cota said in an e‑mail that the accident occured about 8:40 a.m. at the intersection of Main and Bridge streets.
“A female was struck by a vehicle turning left from Bridge Street onto Main Street,” Cota said. “The female sustained an injury to her left leg and was transported to Yale to be treated.”
The woman’s injuries were not life-threatening, Cota said.
Police are investigating the accident.
