Weenie Wagon’s Future In Doubt

FILEThe future of Seymour’s beloved Weenie Wagon is in doubt.

The CT Post reported Thursday that the owner of the hot dog truck, Carolyn Schumacher, received a letter from the Naugatuck Valley Health District citing violations that need to be fixed — specifically the need for a two- or three-bay sink.

The future of the Weenie Wagon has also been a topic of conversation on the Valley Indy’s Facebook page, as well as the “You Must Have Grown Up In The Valley” Facebook page.

Schumacher told the Post she could close within a couple of months.

Dave Rogers, a health district official, told the newspaper the health district is trying to work with Schumacher to resolve the problems.

The Weenie Wagon recently moved to the parking lot of Whittemore Ice Cream on South Main Street after several years at Seymour Lumber.
