SEYMOUR – The following information was published by Seymour First Selectwoman Annmarie Drugonis on the town’s Facebook page and is reprinted here with permission.

Here is what is happening in the 888:

Tree trimming began last week on Holbrook Road. The Town (Fire Chief, Police Chief, Ambulance Chief, Fire Marshal and Town Engineer), signed off on the detour plans. We were just updated (yesterday), the road will be closed from the rotary to Moose Hill Road on Holbrook Road, this will most likely go into affect (this) morning.

There are orange detour signs up. Work is expected to be completed by November 2023. They did say approximately 18 months.

You will notice there is clearing going on over by the Old Seymour Lumber building. The DOT is starting to clear the area they have several projects going on.

Board of Finance meets (today), they will be going over the town’s audit, hearing the BOE report as well as approving ARP (American Rescue Plan) funds that the Board of Selectmen approved last Tuesday.

We found a home for the Seymour dog park!

A company is donating all the work; labor, fencing and materials that go with the park. As soon as we have the final design we will be presenting it to the Board of Selectmen at their first meeting in August. We are hoping to have the park up and running by October/November time frame.
