The court case for Rodney Lee Brown, the father of the 3‑month-old baby who died in Ansonia last month, was continued for another three weeks Tuesday.
Brown, 26 of Ansonia, was charged with a single charge of risk of injury to a child in connection with the “suspicious” death of his daughter, Alayziah.
Ansonia police have not said what role, if any, Brown had in the death of the baby.
The cause of death is still undetermined.
Police have said that risk of injury charge could be dropped — or more charges could be filed — depending on the results of toxicology reports.
Brown, who is being held on a $150,000 bond, did not appear in Superior Court in Derby Tuesday. His case was continued until Nov. 3 while the court waits for the toxicology results.
Brown also has two other cases pending in Superior Court. One is for a separate risk of injury charge stemming from a domestic dispute on Aug. 1.
The other case is for allegations Brown was involved in a fight at a Shelton gas station July 18.
Police recently served a warrant for third degree assault and second degree breach of peace in that case.
All three cases were continued to Nov. 3.
