Shelton’s very own Mrs. Connecticut, Liza Ginoni-Gambino, recently joined the Derby-Shelton Rotary.

The very first time I met Liza was at our Shelton Day festival. She was introduced to me as Mrs. Connecticut American. She was so warm and authentic. I asked her if she wanted to get into one of the Shriners cars with me and she said yes, without a second thought. I was very excited to learn she was interested in becoming a member. She’s a definite asset to our Derby Shelton Rotary Club. She loves to give back to the community. I knew she would be a perfect fit,” said Kim Ryan Caro, Club President.

Quassy Amusement Scheduled To Open April 27

MIDDLEBURY — Quassy Amusement Park and Waterpark will kick off its 116th season on Saturday, April 27 with Quassy Cares Neighbors in Need Weekends,” a two-weekend-long fundraiser.

On April 27- 28 and May 4 – 5, guests can receive discounted All-Day Ride Wristbands for only $17 when they bring a donation of a non-perishable item or home cleaning products. Non-perishable food donations will go to local food banks and home cleaning products will benefit Acts 4 Ministry, a local nonprofit helping the needs of families and individuals in financial distress. 

Guests will receive one discounted pass per donated item. All-Day Ride Wristbands are also available during the first two weekends for only $26.99 without a donation.

Notice is hereby given that the Naugatuck Valley Health District will hold a Public Hearing on its revised Private Well Code and revised Subsurface Sewage Disposal System Code on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at 4:00PM.

The Public Hearing will be held in a hybrid format with both in-person and virtual access options. Attend in-person at the Naugatuck Valley Health District office located at 98 Bank Street, Seymour, CT 06483 in the Matthies Conference Room (rear entrance of building).

Rotary Flags For Heroes Program Donates To The Heroes Of The Derby Police Department

The Derby-Shelton Rotary Club is proud to announce that they were able to donate $2,000 to the Derby Police Department. The money was from proceeds raised from the 2023 2nd Annual Derby-Shelton Rotary Club Flags for Heroes program. Over 300 flags were sponsored and flown on the Derby Green and the Shelton Veterans Memorial Park in late Spring 2023.
