Ansonia Police Investigating Two Shootings

ANSONIA — Police are investigating an early morning shooting on West Main Street.

According to a statement from Lt. Patrick Lynch, officers on patrol heard the sound of gunshots at about 2 a.m. Saturday coming from West Main Street.

They found a man who had been shot several times in the city’s municipal parking lot near the train station.

Officers rendered medical aid until an ambulance arrived and the victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment,” Lynch said.

The 26-year old victim is in serious but stable condition. He’s from Ansonia. He was shot multiple times,” police said.


While police were on West Main Street, Griffin Hospital alerted authorities that another gunshot victim had come to the hospital seeking help.

The 24-year-old man was shot once, according to police. 

The second victim is currently listed in stable condition,” according to Lynch.
