Alderman Edward Adamowski’s campaign for mayor sent the following press release Tuesday (Oct. 6)
The Connecticut American Federation of Teachers backs Ed Adamowski for Mayor of Ansonia.
AFT Connecticut represents over 30,000 workers in the public and private sectors. Their membership includes teachers, education paraprofessionals and other school related personnel, state employees, health care workers, and higher education faculty and staff.
“I’m thrilled to have received the support of AFT,” Adamowski said in a prepared statement.
He added, “AFT and I share many of the same guiding principals; growing our middle class, ensuring all students have access to a world class public education, and ensuring workers have the right to collectively bargain for fair wages and better working conditions.”
“Ed has demonstrated his commitment to public service over his career both as a first responder and a local elected representative,” said Jan Hochadel, president of AFT Connecticut. “By championing issues that our members and all working families care about — education, healthcare, good jobs and vital services we all depend on — he is showing the kind of new leadership Ansonia needs.”
Adamowski is the Democratic nominee for Mayor of Ansonia. Currently Ed serves as Ward 1 Alderman and assistant fire chief in the City of Ansonia.
