Ansonia, Derby Mayors To Host Business Forum

Ansonia Mayor David Cassetti and Derby Mayor Anita Dugatto will partner up to host a Valley Business Forum” next week.

Local businesses are invited to hear from experts about programs, grants and resources to help businesses grow and stimulate job creation.

The event will be Wednesday, March 12, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the My Health 1st Urgent Care facility at 158 Main St., Ansonia.

State Rep. Linda Gentile will moderate the forum.

Topics will include: 

  • Benefits and services offered through the Ansonia Economic Development Commission.
  • Information and access to FREE support Services available through CT Department of Labor Business Services Unit.
  • Information and access to Step Up Subsidized Wage & Manufacturing Training Grants available through May 31, 2014.
  • Information and access to Step Up Unemployed Armed Forces Member Grant available through June 30, 2015.
  • Information and access to other resources to accessing capital and become competitive.
  • Information and access to workforce development programs and job seekers.

Presenters include Cassetti, Dugatto, as well as: 

  • Nester Leon, assistant vice president of WorkPlace Inc.,
  • Carmen Nieves, step up regional coordinator, WorkPlace Inc.,
  • Lori-Lynn Chatlos, business services specialist, Connecticut Department of Labor
  • Lindy Lee Gold, Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development.
