UPDATE: The Ansonia Harvest Festival has been rescheduled for Oct. 10, officials announced this afternoon.
The change was made because the National Weather Service says there is a 90 percent chance of rain Saturday.
The festival will be held from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
The event had been scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 3.

The annual Ansonia Harvest Festival is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Main Street.
In addition to amusement rides, live music, arts and crafts, A CAR SHOW, scarecrows and pumpkin carving contests — the Valley Independent Sentinel will be there!

This year’s Harvest Festival will also feature a Main Street Scarecrow contest.
Judges from the Valley Arts Council will be awarding blue ribbons for scarecrow originality, costume, scariest, skill and workmanship.
A pumpkin carving contest will be held for students enrolled in Ansonia schools.

Note: Main Street in Ansonia will be closed to traffic starting at 7:30 a.m. the day of the festival. It reopens at 6 p.m.
The following cross streets will be open to traffic: Tremont Street, East and West Main Streets.
