Ansonia Press Release: Bus Shelters Approved

ANSONIA — Mayor David Cassetti announced earlier this month the approval of bus shelters to be installed along several routes in the city.

The announcement follows recent meetings with the Naugatuck Valley Council of Governments (NVCOG).

Locations proposed include corner of Main Street at Bridge Street, North Main Street at Third Street, and Clifton Avenue at Division Street. The shelters are proposed to be maintained by a third party contractor with a targeted installation this spring. There is no cost to the city.

Many considerations go into site approval including daily ridership totals per stop, sidewalk condition and most importantly, sidewalk width (10 feet or more).

A dozen bus stop locations were considered by NVCOG.
