Ansonia is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year through city-wide events.
The Cultural Commission’s Melissa Torres, who Mayor Cassetti has appointed to coordinate the year-long activities, is looking for sponsors.
Torres would like to give local businesses the opportunity to be key players in all festivities in exchange for name recognition at ANSONIA 125 events, which will include the usual Ansonia annual events as well as new ones created uniquely for the anniversary.
The goal is to do what best can be done with donations rather than requesting tax payer dollars.
Torres has scheduled an informational meeting for Monday, March 10 at Ansonia High School’s Lecture Hall at 7 p.m.
All city departments, school and civic organizations and interested sponsors are invited to hear the tentative plans so far and help in the planning process. Bring your ideas!
