Edward Adamowski, a First Ward Ansonia Alderman running for mayor, announced Monday he had received the support of U.S. Rosa DeLauro.
DeLauro, a Democrat, has served Connecticut’s 3rd District, which includes Ansonia, since 1991, and serves on the Appropriations Committee and is the ranking member on the Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education.
“Ed has demonstrated his commitment to public service both through his tenure on the Board of Alderman and as Assistant Chief of the Ansonia Fire Department. I’m confident Ed will work hard to improve the lives of Ansonia residents,” DeLauro said in a prepared statement from Adamowski’s campaign.
“It’s a great honor to have the support of Congresswoman DeLauro,” Adamowski said in the statement. “I’ve seen the work Rosa has done for our community, in particular her work to support good paying middle class jobs here in the valley, and we couldn’t ask for a better advocate.”
“Through my work as Alderman I’ve seen that a lot of Ansonia families are struggling to make ends meet, which is why we’ve got to invest in education and growing middle class jobs here in Ansonia,” Adamowski’s statement went on. “On day one, I plan to partner with Rosa and the rest of the delegation to fight for more and better job opportunities for Ansonia residents.”
