Derby Superintendent Stephen Tracy said he will make his school budget proposal on Feb. 16 before the Derby Board of Education.
Derby schools have all handed in their budget requests and Tracy is now in the process of reviewing them before drafting his own proposal, he said Friday.
“The budget is now on my table and I’m trying to fit all those pieces together to take it to the school board,” he said.
He couldn’t say yet if the school requests were feasible.
“This is a district that traditionally has a very tight budget,” Tracy said. “There’s always a lot of tension in the budget process. It’s too soon to say.”
After Tracy reviews the school proposals presents his own on Feb. 16, he said the board should adopt a budget by early March.
