Friday COVID-19 Data From The Naugatuck Valley Health District

Six more people tested positive for the COVID-19 virus between Thursday and Friday, according to information released Friday afternoon from the Naugatuck Valley Health District.

Please remember that this is a rapidly evolving situation and numbers are likely to change,” Jessica Stelmaszek, the NVHDs health director, said in an email.

As of Friday, 37 people within the health district’s jurisdiction tested positive. One person, an 80-year-old man from Shelton, was discovered to have COVID-19 after he passed away.

Beacon Falls: 1

Derby: 3

Naugatuck: 7

Seymour: 5

Shelton: 18

Total: 37, with 1 death in Shelton

The NVHD jurisdiction is the towns and cities listed above. Oxford falls under the jurisdiction of the Pomperaug Health District.

Also, Griffin Health is offering an information hotline at 203 – 204-1053 for patients, visitors, and community residents who have questions about COVID-19. Griffin caregivers will be available to answer questions Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Naugatuck Valley Health District is also releasing age-range data for people who test positive for COVID-19.
