The Shelton Farmers’ Market Association invites the community to the Shelton Farmers Market on Saturday, July 23 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Shelton Farmers Market building, located at 100 Canal St. in Shelton. Organizations special to this Saturday’s market include: Bring the Hoopla (hula hooping), Griffin Hospital Valley Parish Nurses (blood pressure screenings), Shelton Police Department (crime prevention resources) and Spooner House (food security). There will also be kids’ activities, live music and plenty of nutritious food items from area farms and businesses.

Community members are encouraged to join the Shelton Farmers’ Market Association for an annual membership fee of $25 in support of the producer-only market, where vendors for the market are the producers of the products they are selling. Interested individuals can sign up at the market or email [email protected]. The Saturday market will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. until Thanksgiving and the Wednesday market will run 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. through Halloween.
