Shelton Mayor Mark Lauretti is still exploring a run for governor, as a Republican.
I have urged Mayor Lauretti “to take a shot at governor,” as I feel he is most qualified candidate, since he has guided the City of Shelton to its present growth, over the past two decades.
I would also like Mayor Lauretti to consider Derby Republican Mayor Tony Staffieri as his running mate for lieutenant governor.
Staffieri is the well-liked Republican mayor of Derby, where has also attracted the votes of Democratic and unaffiliated voters in Derby.
Staffieri “runs a tight ship” as Derby mayor.
In my opinion, a Lauretti-Staffieri ticket would be a winner, as Connecticut needs them to guide this state out of our troubled times.
