On Thursday, the Connecticut Department of Health updated COVID-19 data that is uploaded to its website once a week.
The Sept. 17 update includes COVID-19 positivity rates on a town-by-town basis.
Keep in mind the Valley numbers are very small numbers, and just one of several COVID-19 data sets scientists monitor. It is being shared for informational purposes only.
The state health department publishes databases the public can comb through. Click this link to explore the data.
As of Friday, Sept. 18 the statewide positivity rate was 1.6 percent, the highest it has been in about two months, but still healthier than much of the U.S. The positivity rate was under 1 percent heading into the Labor Day weekend. Hospitalizations are up, too. Click here for a story from The CT Mirror.
Here’s some local COVID-19 data, including positivity rates, for lower Valley towns (click here for the latest report from the Naugatuck Valley Health District).
The time period covered: Sept. 6 through Sept. 12 (and uploaded Sept. 17).
I couldn’t fit the image perfectly on the site. Here is the ‘key’ to provide guidance for the columns at the top of the box.
