Seymour Resident: Vote For Imetovski

Next Tuesday, Nov. 3, I will cast my vote for Zani Imetovski for First Selectman of Seymour.

He is a man of integrity who has accomplished much. As president of the University of New Haven Student Government he managed a one and a half million-dollar budget and ten employees. He served in Washington, DC as an intern for Senator Blumenthal. He managed a successful campaign for our State Representative, Theresa Conroy. He currently works as a legislative aid in Hartford.

Zani will continue his demonstrated ethic of hard work, and as First Selectman will open Town Hall for a five-day workweek. He will dedicate himself full time to address the concerns and needs of residents. Zani has shown integrity throughout this campaign season by refusing to use negative or misleading information about his opponent.

During this campaign season, Zani’s opponent, Kurt Miller, has touted his management of Seymour’s budget. Let’s not forget that other town boards manage large portions of the budget, for example, the Board of Education that represents more than half of the town’s budget. Miller has characterized Zani as a partisan aide for state lawmakers who increased state taxes”. Mr. Miller, since when are you an independent? Have not Seymour taxes and the mill rate increased during your tenure? Miller asks, Whose experience can you count on?”

I guess we can count on Miller’s experience to raise taxes! Let us not forget the substantial raise in salary that Miller is due to receive if re-elected while working a four-day week at Town Hall. Let us not forget that while Miller works full time for the town of Seymour, he also finds time to work at his family business.

Has any progress been made with the development of Tri Town Plaza even with the Miller campaign receiving a large donation from Ron Spector? Why are the Republicans touting the completion of the fish bypass when this was a State funded project for which Theresa Conroy was instrumental?

When Zani requested an alternative date for the Valley Independent interview due to having to be at work, Miller used social media to misrepresent that reason stating that he mysteriously” was not there. These are not examples of the positive leadership that Miller claims.

Vote for a fresh voice and new energy for Seymour; vote for Zani on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
