The Seymour Board of Education will host a workshop tonight (April 16) where members will explain the 2012 – 2013 budget proposal to parents and members of the public.
The event will take place at 7 p.m. at the Seymour Middle School auditorium.
Seymour Board of Education chairman Yashu Putorti sent a letter to parents earlier this month, inviting them to come ask questions about the proposal.
“I would like to explain our budget as well as answer questions,” Putorti said in the letter. The full document is posted below.

The proposed school budget is $30.9 million — or a 4.03 percent increase over the current budget of $29.8 million.
Seymour residents will vote on town and school budgets separately at a referendum on May 3.
