Sunday, June 14, is Flag Day.
It is a day designated nationally to recognize the stars and stripes that represent the United States of America.
I invite all residents and businesses in Ansonia to proudly display the American flag on this day to show your patriotism and as a reminder of all the freedoms we enjoy as Old Glory flies over us.
I further encourage you to make an extra effort this year to display flags, buntings, Uncle Sams, and any other red, white and blue décor, from Flag Day until Independence Day on July 4th.
Let’s finish the spring and start the summer with a celebratory showing of the national colors.
Also, if your flag is looking a bit faded or tattered, Flag Day is a good time to consider replacing it with a new one.
Most department and hardware stores, as well as grocery stores, sell them.
For those of you who like to SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, displaying the flag is the easiest and most effective way to do that.
The families of service members, as well as veterans, will especially appreciate it.
