SEYMOUR — The Yankee Clipper Barbershop owners Tom and Diane Baklik are hosting their annual fundraiser breakfast to benefit TEAM Toys 4 Kids, which is the largest holiday toy drive in the region serving nearly two thousand children in our region each year. TEAM is a nonprofit human services agency serving the Greater Valley & surrounding region. Visit TEAM on the web at www.teaminc.org.
In addition to food, the breakfast will feature raffle drawings, music from the Magnificent Brass Band, a visit from Santa, and more. Guests are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate to TEAM Toys 4 Kids.
TEAM Toys 4 Kids will serve nearly two thousand children in our region this year.
As the checkbooks of parents & caregivers continue to be stretched to the brink due to inflation, holiday toys are often the last on the list of priorities. TEAM Toys 4 Kids aims to take the financial stressor and worry off the backs of parents as they head into the holiday season, and give them the confidence and reassurance that they will be able to provide something special for their children come Christmas morning.
The program aims to ensure every child can dream, wonder and wish as they experience the magic of the holiday season alongside all of their peers, no matter their household budget and family situation. The generosity of our community makes it possible for TEAM to serve all families who reach out and ask for help.
After completing our toy collection, TEAM will welcome parents into our Toy Store (Echo Hose Ambulance Training Center in Shelton) to shop for toys for their children. They will be able to choose the toys that best suit their child’s age and interests.
Diane and Tom Baklik are longstanding supporters of TEAM Inc and our Toys 4 Kids program. Each year, they host this Christmas breakfast and ask the community to donate toys, and that brings in hundreds of toys for us each year. It’s a great opportunity for the community to come together and see one another face-to-face to support TEAM Toys 4 Kids.
