Ultimate 80s Flick ‘Teen Wolf’ To Screen In Ansonia

ANSONIA — The City of Ansonia and Connecticut Cult Classics are banding together to present a free outdoor screening of Teen Wolf” Saturday, Sept. 21 at Nolan Field on Wakelee Avenue.

The event stars at 7 p.m. The movie will screen when it is dark enough.

There will be food trucks, vendors and assorted fun,” according to the event’s Facebook page.

The rain date is Sept. 28.

Teen Wolf,” a broad comedy released in 1985, stars Michael J. Fox as a high school student who discovers he is part werewolf.

Surprisingly, his affliction boosts his popularity in school and turns him into a dynamite basketball player. 

It’s rated PG and is about 90 minutes long.

According to Wikipedia, the movie cost $1.2 million to make — and made $80 million at the box office (despite middling reviews from critics).

Fox was already a huge television and movie star at the time of the movie’s release, which followed the blockbuster Back to the Future.”

Connecticut Cult Classics, run by Derby’s Larry Dwyer, has been screening cult flicks at The Strand Theater in Seymour for several years.
