Two Shootings In Two Weeks In Ansonia

ANSONIAA 27-year-old woman was shot in Ansonia on Friday (Nov. 1), according to police.

Ansonia police were called to Griffin Hospital by Derby police at around 7:50 p.m. on Friday. There, they found that a woman had been shot in Ansonia and brought to the hospital in a private car.

Police said on Saturday that the woman is in critical, but stable condition. She was transferred to another hospital after police arrived.

Police said they believe the shooting to be an isolated incident. The investigation is ongoing.

It was the second shooting in less than a week in Ansonia.

On Oct. 26, police were called to the Saint Sebastian Club in response to a shooting. Two men were brought to the hospital, with one in critical condition. 

By Oct. 29, that victim’s condition had improved to critical, but stable, according to police.
