Writer: Miller’s Administration Has Not Been Effective In Seymour

The next election cycle is nearly upon us and citizens of Seymour will soon be called to vote for the old versus the new. There is always something to be said for « old », but when the old « gets old », is it not worthwhile to think about new?

The present administration has little, if anything, to brag about. Annual tax increases? We got them and they plan for more. Increased size in government? We got that. Less work = fewer hours for the current First Selectman? Boy, did we get that!! Economic development promised but never delivered, even with an Economic Development Director?

The check is in the mail.

Yes, my fellow citizens. To quote our First Selectman, « Leadership matters.» But where has it been and what has it done for you and for me? Surely one can see its notable absence in Town Hall. Do not be taken in by such a trite slogan. The past four years of the present administration has been a period of marginal, positive activity for this community.

A few paved roads can be ordered by anyone, but a leader brings new traffic, new growth and a new vibrance to the community to travel upon those roads to Seymour.

Have you seen any of that of late in Seymour? I think not!

You all know the old saying, « You get what you deserve. » Well, did we « deserve » what we have, and would we want to get what we « deserve » again by returning the « old » to office once more?

Show your dissatisfaction with the status quo. Show your dissatisfaction with ineffective leadership and ineffective kow-towing selectmen minions whose only claim to fame is to pass an increase to the First Selectman’s salary. Is that the best they can do?

Come out on Election Day and vote your dissatisfaction as you vote for a breath of new, effective leadership.

Vote for Zani Imetovsky and the Democrat ticket. It’s a win-win for Seymour!
