Valley Interfaith Council To Host Free Film Screening And Panel Discussion On Faith

The Valley Interfaith Council (VIFC) will present a free screening of the National Geographic film, Jerusalem, followed by a panel discussion.

VIFC Vice-Chair and event coordinator, Deacon Tom Mariconda, said, Jerusalem is considered one of the holiest places on Earth. Viewing the documentary about this city from a global perspective will help our regional faith-based communities better understand how we can work together to achieve the same goal: peace for us all.”

This event, which is free to attend, will take place on Wednesday, October 10th from 7 – 9pm at Center Stage Theatre in Shelton, CT. Refreshments will be provided. Groups of five or more can register by calling (203) 926‑9478.

Jerusalem is home of the world’s three largest religions: Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. This is the Council’s first public event to bring further understanding and clarity about interfaith similarities and differences. It is the hope of the VIFC that this immersive and inclusive experience will help to provide more knowledge about tolerance and understanding.
