Foley Criticizes Staffieri’s Record

Earlier this month, I issued a commentary about Mayor Staffieri’s reluctance to debate, and thus deprive the voters of Derby an opportunity to hear from both candidates. 

The more I ask myself why Derby’s highest-elected official would deprive the voters of one of most common practices of any election, the more I’m beginning to understand why.

Derby Chief: Foley’s Campaign Cites Old Crime Stats

Derby Police Chief Gerald Narowski is taking issue with a statement in a campaign flier that says the city is one of Connecticut’s 10-worst cities for violent crime.”

The mailing was sent out by Dan Foley’s campaign. Foley is running as a Democrat for mayor against incumbent Anthony Staffieri.

The statement in Foley’s flier references data that is seven years old, Narowski said Thursday.

Staffieri’s Campaign Launches Website, Social Media Pages

The Staffieri for Mayor campaign has jumped into Social Media and is liking the results.

They are using Talking Finger, LLC, a Connecticut-based social media marketing firm (facebook.com/talkingfinger) to guide them through the sometimes confusing, but always exciting, worlds of Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Foursquare and beyond.

Grand Opening For Foley’s Campaign HQ Is Friday

Dan Foley cordially invites all voters and taxpayers of Derby to join him and his slate of candidates for a Grand Opening event of the Democratic Campaign Headquarters on Friday, August 26 at 7:00 p.m.

The campaign headquarters is conveniently located at 23 Elizabeth Street, directly next door to Archie Moore’s.
