Comcast is hosting an open house at its Seymour Public Access Television Studio for residents and non-profit organizations in Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Bethany, Derby, Naugatuck, Oxford, Seymour and Shelton on Thursday, March 14 from 4 to 7 p.m.
This Open House will be held at the Comcast studio at 80 Great Hill Road in Seymour.
During the open house residents will have the opportunity to learn more about becoming involved in Public Access Television, meet access producers and volunteers, tour the studio and view the studio’s field equipment and editing suites.
Guests will learn how to become a behind-the-scenes volunteer and how to cover on-location events and public meetings as well.
The studio has recently upgraded some of its equipment, including new Canon HD tapeless camcorders to use for taping shows and meetings outside the studio, new iMacs with state-of-the-art editing programs, and a Broadcast Pix system with remote control cameras.
Residents will be able to register for future training workshops to learn how to use this equipment and more.
For more information or to volunteer, residents and nonprofit organizations should contact Melissa Leonard, Public Access Coordinator for the Seymour Public Access Television Studio at (203) 736‑2692 x‑73837 or via email at Melissa_Leonard@cable.comcast.com.
