Flood Of 1955 Documentary Short

The Flood of 1955, which wrecked parts of Seymour, Derby, and Ansonia, was 64 years ago this month.

The video above was posted to YouTube in 2010 by Scott Sarich. It’s a short documentary on the Flood of 1955 — with attention paid specifically to the lower Naugatuck Valley.

The subjects interviewed include Ed Cotter and Charles Seccombe, respected Valley men who have since passed on. Robert Novak, the former head of the Derby Historical Society, is also featured.

The documentary is production of Six Mix Productions and Southern Connecticut State University.
