Piglet Halloween with Cinderella
The Giggling Pig

A family-fun event for kids ages 18 months to four years old featuring crafts, sensory play and a visit from Cinderella for an hour of stories and songs. Halloween snacks provided. Feel free to come in costume. Caregiver attendance required.

Seymour Scary Lawns Contest
Seymour residents are invited to decorate their lawns for Halloween. Residents can enter the contest until Monday, Oct. 21. Judging will take place Oct. 22 – 24, with the winner in the ‘trick’ (scary) and ‘treat’ (cute) categories, and a runner-up, announced on Oct. 25.
To enter the contest, visit the town’s parade and events committee Facebook page to fill out an entry form.

4th Annual Historical Elm Street Lantern Tour
Derby Historical Society, David Humphreys House
37 Elm St., Ansonia
The Derby Historical Society will host a lantern lit walking tour of the Ansonia Historic District. Tours depart at 6 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. and are about one hour in length. Tours depart from the David Humphreys House. Upon return, guests can listen to storyteller Carolyn Stearns and enjoy a hot drink and more spooky tales by the fire. All tickets include a voucher for a free drink at The Quail & Ale in Derby. There is limited parking in the lot behind the House but parking is available on Thomas Street and across the street on the cemetery side of Elm Street. Tickets are $22 for adults, $15 for seniors ages 65+ and $10 for children under 16. Dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. Check in at gift shop on arrival.

Free family fun event, sponsored by Seymour emergency services. People can set up and decorate their cars from 4 to 6 p.m. Bring plenty of candy to pass out. There will be prizes for best child costumes, decorated cars and carved pumpkins. All pumpkins must be on the table by 6:15 pm. There will be free hot dogs, chips, cider, hot chocolate and dancing.
All children must be accompanied by an adult. No walk-ins.

The Seymour Culture and Arts Commission will host its 17th annual event where trick or treaters can collect candy from downtown Seymour merchants. A children’s costume parade for kids in grades K‑5 will start at 1 p.m. Line-up for the parade by 12:45 p.m. at the corner of First and Bank streets. Registration is not needed for this free event.
