July Manufacturing Information Sessions At NVCC

Naugatuck Valley Community College’s Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center (AMTC) is hosting four information sessions in July for students interested in earning manufacturing certification.

The sessions will take place on:

  • Thursday, July 7 at 5:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, July 14 at 1 p.m.
  • Thursday, July 21 at 5:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, July 28 at 1 pm.

All sessions will be held at NVCC in Technology Hall, Room T515, at 750 Chase Parkway in Waterbury.

Students who earn their two-semester certificate in Manufacturing Machine Technology will be qualified to work in machine technology and CNC manufacturing environments.

The certificate provides valuable work skills by combining hands-on instruction, interactive lab experiences, theory and on-site manufacturing internships. The College currently offers daytime and evening manufacturing cohorts in Waterbury and an evening cohort at Henry Abbott Technical High School in Danbury.

Graduates are prepared to work on the shop floor with knowledge in blueprint reading, manufacturing processes, CNC and over 400 contact hours with state-of-the-art machinery.

Additionally, credits earned in this certificate may apply to the College of Technology’s (COT) Technology Studies advanced manufacturing degree option, which offers seamless transfer to several four-year universities, including Central Connecticut State University.

Students who enroll in these programs may be eligible for financial aid. In addition, these certificates are Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)-approved and qualify for assistance under the Veterans Retraining Programs.

The program curriculum is available at www.nv.edu/amt. If there is interest and or you would like further information, students can contact Deirdre D’Amore at 203 – 575-8014 or .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) to learn more.
