Republican Senator George Logan and Democratic candidate Jorge Cabrera will participate in a District 17 Senatorial debate at the Thornton Wilder Auditorium in the Miller Complex at 2901 Dixwell Avenue in Hamden 06518 on Wednesday, October 24th at 7:00P.M.
The debate will be moderated by Ray Andrewsen, General Manager and Morning Show host of Quinnipiac University community radio station.
The 17th District includes Ansonia, Bethany, Beacon Falls, Derby, Hamden, Naugatuck, and Woodbridge. The League of Women Voters encourages all residents of the 17th district to attend the debate to become better informed about the positions of the candidates. Residents may submit written questions at the debate which will be reviewed for clarity and submitted to the moderator.
Founded in 1920, six months before the ratification of the 19th amendment that gave women the right to vote, the League welcomes as members men (since 1974) and women who have an interest in how we govern ourselves and who are willing to work for greater participation in our democracy.
