
DERBY — Valerie Knight-DiGangi of The Valley Community Foundation returns to ‘Navel Gazing: The Valley Indy Podcast’ to talk about how groups can apply for the latest round of funding from the Valley Community COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund.

The Valley Community COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund was created by The Valley Community Foundation, The Valley United Way, The Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce, and The Valley Health & Human Services Council.
About $45,000 in grants will be awarded. The grants range from $1,000 to $5,000.

Preference will be given to groups that previously applied but did not receive funding.
This is the fourth round of funding. Previous grants have been used to purchase personal protective equipment for EMS crews in Ansonia, Seymour, and Shelton; to provide general operating support for local food pantries; to purchase laptops so employees from the Naugatuck Valley Health District could work remotely, and; to support providing food, diapers, and medications for those impacted by COVID-19.
