VCF Grants Available

The Valley Community Foundation is pleased to announce its 2010 Responsive Grants Program.

In this third year, a total of $175,000 will be available for one-year Grants to charitable organizations located in (or serving) Ansonia, Derby, Oxford, Seymour and/or Shelton.

Potential applicants are invited to attend an informational session on Tuesday, May 11, at 4:00 p.m., in the Derby Public Library meeting room, 313 Elizabeth Street, Derby.

VCF Staff will brief attendees on the Grants Program, application requirements, timetable for submission, and other considerations.

Due to room capacity restrictions, attendance will be limited, and should be confirmed in advance by calling or emailing the VCF office.

Applications which address an important Valley Community need will be given strong consideration, and successful applicants will have demonstrated that their organization can complete the proposed project (including all other necessary fundraising) within one year. This year, grants can provide funding for a project or for operating support.

We are delighted to continue a process which will allow new funds to flow into the Valley,” said VCF Board Chair Liz Kennard. We are gratified to be able to increase available funding from $100,000 to $175,000 with the maximum grant of $15,000.”

This is truly what the Valley Community Foundation is all about,” said VCF President Jamie Cohen. By bringing people together to help them learn how to successfully access these funds, we will continue making our Valley Community even stronger.”

Serving Ansonia, Derby, Oxford, Seymour and Shelton, the VCF was founded in 2004, and is dedicated to making the Valley a better place to live and work.

The 2010 application will be available on-line at www.valleyfoundation.org after May 11th.
