Democratic Mayor Anita Dugatto called for consensus among city officials Saturday during her inaugural address at Derby High School.
The mayor won her second, two-year term Nov. 3 by overcoming Republican Richard Dziekan, 1,464 to 1,352 during a city-wide election.

A recount in Derby’s Third Ward Aldermen race Saturday yielded no minor changes from Election Day, according to Registrar of Voters Louise Pitney.
A state-mandate recount was held Saturday from 10 a.m. to about 12 p.m. in Derby City Hall.

Anita Dugatto was re-elected to a second term as Derby’s mayor Tuesday, beating Republican challenger Richard P. Dziekan by 112 votes, according to unofficial numbers.
“ It was close,” Dugatto told supporters with a smile and a thumbs up, after announcing the numbers at her campaign headquarters.
Unofficial numbers had Dugatto at 1,464 votes and Dziekan at 1,352.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3.
Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
In Derby, the race for mayor pits one-term incumbent Democrat Anita Dugatto against Republican challenger Richard Dziekan, a retired Hamden police officer and member of the city’s Board of Apportionment and Taxation.
Dugatto is a dentist with an office in Derby.
The two candidates debated the issues Oct. 19 on “ Valley Navel Gazing,” this publication’s weekly talk show.
