State Representative Nicole Klarides-Ditria (R‑105)was named as a 2024 Legislator of the Year by the membership of the Connecticut Association for Healthcare at Home.
The official announcement noted Rep. Klarides-Ditria’s “willingness to engage the House floor in the Legislative Intent Discussion around Sections 1 and 2 of Senate Bill 1 (that) was of vital importance to our home health providers in that it provided clarity on compliance intent when the language in the bill was quite stringent and challenging.”

SEYMOUR – From a press release: “Gov. Ned Lamont and Connecticut Banking Commissioner Jorge Perez joined CEOs and executives of major banks and credit unions from across Connecticut at a news conference in Seymour to announce partnerships between state government and the financial services industry to provide relief and critical information to individuals and businesses impacted by the Aug. 18, 2024, severe flooding in Fairfield County, Litchfield County, and New Haven County.”
SEYMOUR — A new Scout Troop in Seymour is hosting a get together at Trinity Episcopal Church at 91 Church St. starting at 6 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 23).
Troop 13 Girls of Seymour was established this month. They are posted out of Trinity Episcopal and they are part of the Housatonic Council Boy Scouts of America.

WTNH-TV News 8, the Nexstar Media Group, Inc. television station serving Hartford/New Haven and the surrounding area, announced today that it will air an exclusive live telecast of a debate between the candidates for United States Senator from Connecticut, incumbent U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D) and challenger Matthew Corey (R).
The 2024 Connecticut U.S. Senate Debate will air live on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m. ET from the WTNH News 8 studios in New Haven.

SEYMOUR — The commuter train line for the Valley is scheduled to return Monday (Oct. 28) the state Department of Transportation announced on Friday (11:30 a.m.)
The Metro-North Waterbury line, which locally passes through Seymour, Ansonia and Derby, hasn’t been operating since being damaged during the Aug. 18 flooding. Buses have been picking commuters up at the train stations, and will continue to do so until Monday.
There were two washouts that undermined the tracks in Beacon Falls and Seymour.
